During hemodialysis (blood dialysis) the blood is purified outside the human body. The patient must be connected to a dialysis machine, which works as an artificial kidney. Blood from patient’s body flows into dialyzer, where toxins and excess fluid are eliminated and such purified blood flows back into the body. The drainage bag is needed also at hemodialysis, into which waste products of dialysis are drained. The solution bag is also needed with which the separation of toxins and water from blood is performed.

Bioiks produces drainage bags with RF welding at the frequency of 27,12 MHz. The advantages of such production are cleanliness and velocity. The production takes place on 8 machines, with which the company produces over 18 million drainage bags per year. The main material for producing a bag is PVC foil of thickness between 0,11 mm and 0,3 mm and PVC tube, which is welded into the bag. Clamp or other accessories are put on the tube.

 Bioiks d.o.o. produces bags of 1 l, 2 l, 3 l, 5 l, 9 l and 10 l volume. For their production special welding tools are needed.

Every peritoneal dialysis needs one drainage bag and one solution bag with fresh dialysis solution. Every hemodialysis needs one drainage bag and three solution bags.

Bioiks produces solution bags with RF welding at frequency 27,12 MHz. Welding takes place on suitable automatic machines. Bioiks does not fill the bags with the solution. Machines produce solution bags with volumes from 100 ml to 6 l. Main material for solution bags production is PVC foil and PVC tube, that is welded into the bag. Clamps or other components can be put on the tube. The foil has the form of a sock, so the lateral welding is not needed. Only the upper and the lower part of the bag are welded. Bags differ in size, form of the weld, number of tubes, position and size of the holes for hanging. Certain bags must pass a series of tests during manufacturing phase, among others also steam sterilization test at 121°C.
